The Capital of MADHYA PRADESH BHOPAL is one of those few tourist sites which are gifted with enviable natural beauty and have historic and archaeological importance. Bhopal’s natural setting and residence are simply hypnotic. Serene lakes, hillocks parks, vagrancy, wildlife, art and culture all attract visitors. Situated on the beautiful Malwa Plateau, the city of lakes Bhopal is about 625 meters high from Mean Sea Level spreading over 28.5 square kms. Maximum temperature in December February remains around 21 degree Celsius, while the average temperature remains 21 degree Celsius. Average rainfall is 118 cms. Population of Bhopal is aprox.1.8 millions. There are many areas in Bhopal which never fail to delight both tourists and locals alike. Place worth seeing include famous landmarks like Bharat Bhavan, Indira Gandhi National Museum of Man, Van Vihar, Boat Club, Upper and Lower Lakes and Lake – VIP Road. Bhopal also has many other interesting sights to see and visit, chief among them being the State Archaeological Museum, the Birla Mandir, The Museum of Telecommunication and the New state Assembly Building .
Bhopal also abound in place of religion and can boast of famous mosques and temples which include the Taj-Ul-Masjid which is the biggest in Asia, The Jama Masjid constructed in 1871, the Dhai Sidh Masjid which is the smallest in the world, the Birla Temple , the Gufa mandir. The places around Bhopal also are full of interesting history and make for ideal getaway or study tours. They include the world heritage monument SANCHI and the world famous BHIMBETKA known for its pre-historic rock painting. Among the hill station, the most famous PACHMARI also known as the “queen of hills”.
Bhopal is the State capital of Madhya Pradesh in India. It is also a major industrial and commercial center. There are two large State Govt. administered industrial estates. India’s largest public sector unit, Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (20,000 employees) is located in Bhopal. Therefore, Bhopal has large population of working class.
